Marlin Off the South Shore of Kauai
Trolled the deep drop-off south of Poipu and raised a beautiful blue marlin estimated at 350 pounds. The fish ate the stinger lure and put on a spectacular aerial display — six jumps and a 30-minute fight. Tagged and released in great shape. Poipu's proximity to deep water makes it a marlin hot spot.

Yellowfin and Mahi Double Feature
Found birds working over yellowfin tuna 6 miles off Poipu and anchored in with chunk bait. Boated five ahi from 25 to 55 pounds on the chum line. Shifted to a nearby kelp line and added six mahi mahi to 20 pounds. Poipu's south-facing shoreline puts you in prime pelagic territory year-round.

Ono Ripping Line Off Poipu
The wahoo were in a feeding mood off Poipu's south shore and we trolled high-speed lures along the 100-fathom curve. Three ono from 35 to 58 pounds hit the spread within an hour. Also boated a nice mahi on a slower trolling pass. The ono sashimi from today's catch was the best I've had all season.
