Stikine River Kings — The Big Ones
Fished the Stikine River flats for king salmon and tangled with absolute monsters. The Stikine produces some of the biggest kings in Alaska and today proved it — boated three kings at 35, 42, and 51 pounds. Fifty-one pounds of chrome-bright fury that took 25 minutes to land. Wrangell fishing at its finest.

King Salmon
Coho Stacking Up at the Hatchery
The coho salmon stacked up near the Wrangell hatchery and the bite was absolutely insane. Trolled purple hoochies behind chartreuse flashers and it was a fish-every-pass situation. Limits of beautiful silvers from 9 to 14 pounds — all bright fish fresh from the ocean.

Coho Salmon
Halibut on the Flats
Drifted herring on the sandy flats south of Wrangell in 180 feet and found a productive patch of halibut. Landed four keepers from 15 to 48 pounds with the big one putting up a serious fight on the medium tackle. Wrangell's halibut grounds don't get the attention they deserve.
