Marlin Smashing Off Waikiki

Trolled the deep blue water off Diamond Head and a striped marlin lit up on the short corner lure. The fish went airborne eight times in a spectacular display before we tagged and released it at an estimated 160 pounds. Honolulu's offshore waters are criminally underrated for world-class marlin fishing.

Yellowfin Tuna Going Ballistic

Found a school of yellowfin busting on the surface 8 miles off Honolulu and cast poppers into the frenzy. Hooked into a 90-pound ahi that dumped half the spool before we turned it. Three more yellowfin to 60 pounds followed on the troll. Fresh ahi poke from fish caught hours ago — that's Hawaii fishing.

Mahi Mahi and Ono Mixed Bag

Worked the FAD buoy off Oahu's south shore and found mahi mahi and ono staging around the structure. The mahi were eating small skirted lures and we boated eight dolphins to 25 pounds. Two ono crashed the high-speed spread for a bonus. Great mixed bag day close to port.
