Merrimack River Stripers Were On Fire
Fished the mouth of the Merrimack River at Newburyport and the Striped Bass were stacked in the outflow. Threw bucktails and soft plastics and hooked up on nearly every cast. The river mouth concentrates bait and the big bass know it. Landed a dozen fish over 30 inches.

Bluefin Tuna Close to Shore
Ran just offshore of Newburyport and found Bluefin Tuna feeding surprisingly close to the beach. Hooked a 400-pound giant that fought for over an hour before we tagged and released it. You do not have to go far offshore to find world-class Bluefin here.

Plum Island Surf Was Outstanding
Fished the surf on Plum Island near the Merrimack jetties and the Striped Bass were feeding in the trough at dawn. Threw large plugs and had explosive strikes from fish pushing 40 inches. Plum Island is one of the premier surf fishing spots in Massachusetts.

Cod Fishing the Ledges Was Great
Dropped on the nearshore ledges out of Newburyport and found excellent Cod fishing. Jigged diamond jigs and caught a nice box of Cod along with some Haddock. The bottom fishing from this port is fantastic and you do not have to run far to find productive structure.

Spring Striper Run Was Incredible
The spring Striped Bass migration up the Merrimack River was absolutely incredible this year. Fish were pouring into the river and feeding aggressively on herring. Caught over 20 stripers on a half-day trip with several pushing trophy size. Newburyport in spring is striper heaven.

Charming Town with World-Class Fishing
Newburyport is a beautiful New England town with a downtown waterfront that is hard to beat. The fishing from here is outstanding too. Stripers in the Merrimack, Bluefin offshore, and Cod on the ledges. We had an amazing time on and off the water.
