King Salmon at the Narrows
Fished the Wrangell Narrows on the tide change and intercepted king salmon migrating through the pass. Mooched herring in the strong current and hooked four gorgeous kings from 25 to 38 pounds. Petersburg's small-town charm and incredible fishing make it the hidden gem of Southeast Alaska.

Halibut Limits in Frederick Sound
Ran into Frederick Sound and found halibut thick on a productive bank in 220 feet. Limited out on beautiful Pacific halibut from 20 to 55 pounds using herring and octopus on circle hooks. Bonus: we watched humpback whales bubble-net feeding while we fished. Only in Petersburg.

Dungeness Crab Overload
Set crab pots in the shallow bays around Petersburg and every pot came up absolutely crammed with Dungeness. These Alaska Dungeness are huge — averaging over 2 pounds with some pushing 3. Pulled limits in one round of pots and spent the rest of the morning rockfishing for a true Alaska combo day.
