Trophy Stripers at the Patuxent Mouth
Fished the mouth of the Patuxent River where it meets the Chesapeake Bay and found trophy Striped Bass stacked on the drop-offs. Trolled large swim baits along the channel edges and landed several fish over 38 inches. Solomons Island is striper heaven.

Bluefish Madness on the Bay
The Chesapeake Bay off Solomons Island was alive with breaking Bluefish on the surface. We cast topwater plugs and had fish on every throw for two straight hours. Mixed in some chunky Stripers on the bottom too. Nonstop rod-bending action.

Summer Flounder Bite Was Hot
Drifted the deeper water near the Patuxent River channel and absolutely crushed the Flounder on white Gulp and minnow combos. The captain put us on productive drifts every time. Limited out on nice fish with a beautiful doormat over 24 inches.

Charming Town with Great Fishing
Solomons Island is a beautiful little harbor town with easy access to some of the best Chesapeake Bay fishing in Maryland. We trolled the bay for Striped Bass and ended the day with a full cooler. The restaurants on the waterfront are fantastic too.

Light Tackle Stripers Were a Blast
Fished light tackle in the Patuxent River near Solomons Island and caught Striped Bass on nearly every cast. Threw paddletails along the oyster bars and the fish were aggressive in the outgoing tide. Landed 20-plus stripers in a half-day trip.

Mixed Bag on the Chesapeake
Had a phenomenal mixed-bag day fishing the Chesapeake Bay from Solomons Island. Caught Bluefish on top in the morning then dropped down for Flounder near the channel markers. The variety of fishing from this port is hard to beat anywhere in Maryland.
