Fluke Were Loaded on the South Shore
Fished the South Shore grounds out of Freeport and the Fluke were everywhere. Drifted bucktails along the lumps and sandbars and caught our limit before lunch. The Nautical Mile is a great base for summer Fluke fishing on Long Island.

Offshore Tuna Action Was Incredible
Ran offshore from the Nautical Mile to the canyon edges and found Yellowfin Tuna on a temperature break. Chunked with butterfish and had a steady pick all day. Boxed six beautiful yellowfin and trolled up a nice Mahi on the way home.

Shark Fishing Was a Thrill
Chummed about 20 miles off Freeport and had sharks circling the boat in no time. Hooked a big Mako that jumped clear of the water three times and fought hard for an hour. Also caught Thresher and Blue Sharks. World-class shark fishing just off the South Shore.

Stripers Were Crushing in the Back Bays
Fished the back bays and channels behind Freeport and the Striped Bass were feeding hard on bunker. Threw live-lined bunker along the marsh edges and had powerful hookups throughout the morning. Great inshore fishing right in the heart of the South Shore.

Fall Run Blitz Off the Beach
The fall run hit the South Shore off Freeport and the Striped Bass were blitzing bunker on the surface just off the beach. Ran a short boat ride from the Nautical Mile and had fish on every pass. Landed 15 keepers with several over 36 inches.

Freeport Nautical Mile has everything an angler needs. Charter boats, party boats, bait shops, and great restaurants after the trip. We fished for Fluke in the morning and Stripers in the evening. Could not ask for a better South Shore Long Island experience.
