Red drum were crushing the surf at Nags Head
Fished the Nags Head piers and surf zone and the red drum were running up and down the beach chasing bait. Threw cut mullet into the wash and it was immediate hookups. Landed seven beautiful drum between 26 and 38 inches — fall surf fishing at Nags Head is as good as it gets.

Cobia sight-fishing from the pier was epic
Spotted cobia cruising past the Nags Head pier and pitched live eels off the rail to them. Hooked three cobia and landed two beautiful fish around 45 pounds each. Pier fishing for cobia on the Outer Banks is an adrenaline rush like no other.

Sound-side speckled trout were on fire
Fished the grass flats on the sound side behind Nags Head and the speckled trout were stacked up thick. Threw MirrOlure soft plastics on light spinning gear and it was a bite on every cast. Landed over 20 trout with the biggest going 23 inches.

Mahi and tuna combo trip out of Oregon Inlet
Ran offshore from Oregon Inlet access near Nags Head and found a gorgeous weed line loaded with mahi. After filling the box with dolphin, we chunked for yellowfin tuna and boated three beautiful fish. A classic Outer Banks offshore doubleheader.

Flounder stacked up in the sound channels
Drifted live minnows through the deeper channels on the sound side near Nags Head and the flounder were aggressive. Every drift put another flatfish in the boat and we ended with a limit of gorgeous flounder. The sound channels here are a flounder highway.

King mackerel blitz off the beach
Watched king mackerel busting bait just outside the surf line at Nags Head and launched the boat to get in on the action. Slow-trolled live bluefish and the kings were crushing them. Boated six kings with the biggest pushing 40 pounds — a smoker king right off the beach.
