Halibut Hammering Off Westport
The halibut opener was epic — we limited out in under 3 hours drifting herring on spreader bars in 180 feet. Biggest fish was a 62-pound slab that peeled 50 yards of line on the first run. Westport's halibut fishery is world-class and days like this remind you why people drive from across the state.

Albacore Showing Up Hot and Heavy
Found the warm water line 35 miles out and the albacore were busting everywhere. Trolled cedar plugs and feather jigs and it was nonstop hookups for 4 hours straight. Loaded the boat with 30 albacore from 15 to 25 pounds — arms were destroyed but the tuna cannery is going to love us.

Salmon and Lingcod Double Header
Trolled the Westport Canyon edge for Chinook in the morning and then dropped down for lingcod in the afternoon. Four kings to 22 pounds plus five keeper lings to 20 pounds — a true double-header day. The versatility of fishing out of Westport is unmatched on the Washington coast.
