Offshore Snapper Out of Freeport Was Epic
Ran out of Freeport Harbor to the offshore reefs and limited on red snapper in the first hour. The fish were big and aggressive. Then jigged up some nice amberjack. Freeport has one of the shortest runs to quality offshore bottom fishing on the Texas coast.

Jetty Fishing Was Absolutely Loaded
Fished the Freeport jetties and the action was constant all day. Caught sheepshead on the rocks, redfish in the channel, and speckled trout on the sandy pockets. The jetty system here is massive and always holds a wide variety of fish.

King Mackerel Were Running Thick
Trolled live bait along the beachfront off Freeport and the king mackerel were everywhere. We boated five kings, the biggest going over 30 pounds. The fall king run along the upper Texas coast is underrated and Freeport is perfectly positioned for it.

Deep Sea Trip Delivered a Cooler Full
Pushed out to the deep water platforms south of Freeport and caught a fantastic mixed bag. Red snapper, vermilion snapper, and grouper all made the cooler. The deep reefs and rigs out of Freeport hold impressive bottom fish all summer long.

Brazos River Channel Held Big Reds
Fished the old Brazos River channel near Freeport and found bull redfish stacked up on the current breaks. Threw cut bait into the flow and had instant hookups. Several fish were over 35 inches. The channel structure here concentrates fish beautifully.

Cobia Were Cruising the Jetties
Spotted cobia cruising along the Freeport jetties in the spring and sight-cast to them with live eels. Hooked up three times and boated two nice fish. Also caught some quality sheepshead on the rocks. A perfect spring day on the upper Texas coast.
