Lower Laguna Madre Was Absolutely Pristine
Fished the crystal-clear flats of the Lower Laguna Madre out of Port Mansfield and sight-cast to tailing redfish all morning. Caught over 20 reds on light tackle. The water clarity and fish population here are unlike anywhere else in Texas.

Snook Were a Welcome Surprise
Fished the East Cut at Port Mansfield and hooked into a beautiful snook on a live mullet. Also caught several nice redfish and speckled trout. Port Mansfield is one of the only places in Texas where you have a realistic shot at snook and it delivered.

Sight-Fishing the Laguna Was World Class
Poled the ultra-shallow flats of the Lower Laguna Madre and found redfish tailing in water barely a foot deep. Made long casts with fly rods and connected on fish after fish. Port Mansfield is the premier sight-fishing destination in the entire state of Texas.

Trout Were Thick on the Sand Bars
Waded the sand bars in the Lower Laguna Madre and found speckled trout feeding in the potholes. Used soft plastics and caught our limit of quality fish by mid-morning. The wade fishing out of Port Mansfield in the spring is consistently excellent.

Offshore Mansfield Produced Big Snapper
Ran out of the Port Mansfield jetties to the offshore rigs and loaded up on red snapper and amberjack. The fish were big and aggressive on the deep structure. Port Mansfield gives you access to both the best flats and solid offshore fisheries.

East Cut Action Was Nonstop
Fished the rocks and channel at the East Cut and the variety was incredible. Caught snook, redfish, speckled trout, and mangrove snapper all in one session. The current funnels everything through the cut and the fish know it. Port Mansfield is truly special.
