Fall Chinook Run Crushing It in Tillamook Bay
The fall Chinook run poured into Tillamook Bay and we were waiting for them. Trolled spinners with herring wraps in the main channel and had our limits of bright hatchery kings by midmorning. Fish ranged from 12 to 26 pounds — every one of them chrome bright and full of fight.

Halibut Bonanza on the Bank
The halibut were thick on the offshore bank in 180 feet and we limited out with Pacific halibut to 45 pounds. Spreader bars with herring were the ticket and every drift produced bites. Best halibut opener I've seen in Garibaldi in over a decade — the regulations are working.

Lingcod and Rockfish Grind Offshore
Battled some sloppy seas to reach the reef 8 miles out and it paid off with quality lingcod and rockfish. Boated five keeper lings to 18 pounds on swimbaits and filled in the box with blue and black rockfish on shrimp flies. The conditions kept the fleet small which meant we had the reef to ourselves.
