Snapper fishing doesn't get better than this
Ran out to some private numbers about 25 miles south of Fort Walton Beach and hammered the red snapper. Limits for six anglers in under 90 minutes with fish averaging 8 to 12 pounds. Some of the best bottom fishing in the Gulf of Mexico right here.

Redfish tailing on the Okaloosa flats
Poled the shallow flats near Okaloosa Island and found pods of redfish tailing in the turtle grass. Threw DOA shrimp on light tackle and connected on some gorgeous copper-colored reds. Sight-fishing redfish in skinny water never gets old.

King mackerel tournament prep paid off
Slow-trolled live pogeys along the beach and nearshore wrecks off Fort Walton and got into a hot king mackerel bite. Boated eight kings including a smoker that taped out at 48 inches. These fish are absolute rockets on light tackle.

Santa Rosa Sound was on fire
Fished the deeper holes in Santa Rosa Sound with live shrimp under popping corks and got into a fantastic mixed bag. Speckled trout, redfish, and even a few nice flounder came to the boat. Fort Walton Beach inshore fishing is seriously underrated.

Mahi mahi were schooled up thick
Found floating debris and weed lines about 50 miles offshore and the mahi were piled up underneath. We caught fish on every cast using light spinning tackle with small jigs. The colors on these fish were electric — what a day.

Big amberjack on the wrecks
Jigged some offshore wrecks in about 150 feet of water and tangled with some monster amberjack. The biggest fish of the day was easily over 80 pounds and took 25 minutes to land on a butterfly jig. Fort Walton Beach has world-class wreck fishing.
