North Edisto River reds were on fire
Fished the oyster beds along the North Edisto River and found big schools of redfish feeding in the shallows on the falling tide. Threw gold spoons into the muds and hooked eight beautiful slot reds. The Kiawah Island marsh system is a redfish angler's paradise.

Flounder loaded up in the Kiawah River
Anchored along the channel edge of the Kiawah River and dropped live mud minnows to the bottom. The flounder were stacked up on the drop-off and we landed 10 beautiful flatfish. This quiet river system is one of the best-kept secrets in the lowcountry.

Speckled trout topwater blowups at sunrise
Worked topwater MirrOlures over the grass flats where the Kiawah River opens up and the speckled trout were demolishing our plugs. Landed 14 trout with four over 20 inches. The combination of moving water and grass beds creates perfect trout habitat around Kiawah.

Sheepshead loaded on the dock pilings
Fished fiddler crabs around the dock pilings at the Kiawah Island marina and the sheepshead were absolutely stacked. Landed a dozen thick sheepshead between 3 and 5 pounds. Winter sheepshead fishing around Kiawah is easy to access and the fish are amazing on the table.

Bull reds schooled up in the North Edisto
Found a huge school of bull redfish near the mouth of the North Edisto River and dropped cut bait into the school. These oversized reds were pulling drag like freight trains and we fought fish between 30 and 40 inches for hours. An unforgettable fall bite.

Cobia cruising the Kiawah beachfront
Sight-fished for cobia along the Kiawah Island beachfront and spotted fish cruising in pods on the surface. Pitched live eels and hooked four cobia, landing three around 40 pounds. The undeveloped beach and clear water make Kiawah one of the best cobia sight-fishing spots in the lowcountry.
