Bluefin Tuna Off Newport Were Massive
Ran offshore out of Newport and found giant Bluefin Tuna feeding on the 20-fathom line south of the island. Hooked a 600-pound fish that took us on a 2-mile sleigh ride before we boated it. Newport offshore fishing is absolutely elite.

Stripers Were Blitzing in the Bay
Fished Narragansett Bay out of Newport and the Striped Bass were blitzing on the surface near the bridge pilings. Cast topwater plugs into the breaking fish and had explosive strikes. Landed over 15 stripers with several quality fish over 35 inches.

Fluke Bite Was Outstanding
Drifted the sandy bottom off Newport and the Fluke were thick on every drift. Bounced bucktails with Gulp trailers and had nonstop action. Limited out with fat Fluke averaging 4 to 5 pounds. Newport has some of the best Fluke fishing in New England.

Shark Fishing Was Thrilling
Chummed offshore of Newport and attracted big sharks within an hour. Hooked a Mako that went airborne and a big Thresher that fought deep and hard. Rhode Island waters are loaded with sharks in the summer and Newport is the perfect launch point for targeting them.

Fall Run Stripers at the Bridges
Fished the fall migration through Narragansett Bay and the Striped Bass were stacked under the Newport Bridge. Jigged soft plastics in the current and hooked up on every drop. The fish were big, aggressive, and feeding hard before their migration south.
