Roanoke Sound speckled trout were on fire
Drifted soft plastics over the grass beds in Roanoke Sound near Roanoke Island and the speckled trout were crushing everything we threw. Landed 22 trout with multiple fish over 22 inches. Manteo's sound-side fishing is some of the most consistent action on the Outer Banks.

Red drum schooled up around Roanoke Island
Found a huge school of red drum pushing bait along the shoreline of Roanoke Island. Cast gold spoons into the school and it was instant hookups. Landed 10 solid reds between 24 and 32 inches. The fall red drum run around Manteo is absolutely legendary.

Flounder loaded in Roanoke Sound
Fished live minnows on the sandy bottom of Roanoke Sound and the flounder were stacked on every depth change. Every drift produced multiple flatfish and we filled our limit in a few hours. Manteo is one of the best flounder spots on the entire Outer Banks.

Striped bass were crushing topwater in the sound
Worked topwater plugs along the Roanoke Sound shoreline at first light and the striped bass were blowing up on every cast. Landed eight stripers between 22 and 30 inches on walk-the-dog lures. Winter striper fishing out of Manteo is an Outer Banks tradition.

Cobia cruising through the sound
Spotted cobia moving through Roanoke Sound on the incoming tide and pitched live eels ahead of the fish. Connected with three cobia and landed two around 40 pounds each. Manteo gives you access to incredible inshore and nearshore fishing without fighting the ocean bar.

Family-friendly puppy drum action
Took a family from Manteo into the shallows of Roanoke Sound with light tackle and shrimp. The puppy drum were everywhere and the kids were catching fish nonstop. Everyone got to reel in their own red drum and the smiles said it all. Manteo is perfect for families.
