Sea Island redfish are the real deal
Fished the tidal creeks winding through the Sea Islands near Beaufort and the redfish were stacked on every oyster bar. Threw live shrimp under popping corks and landed 11 slot reds. The beauty of the lowcountry marshes here makes every trip unforgettable.

Flounder slam on the oyster bars
Fished live finger mullet along the oyster bar edges in the Beaufort River and the flounder were ambushing bait on every falling tide. Landed eight beautiful flatfish with the biggest going over 5 pounds. The structure in these lowcountry creeks is absolutely loaded with flounder.

Speckled trout were crushing topwater at dawn
Launched before sunrise near the Sea Islands and worked topwater plugs over the grass flats as the sun came up. The speckled trout were blowing up on every cast in the still morning water. Landed 16 trout, releasing everything over 20 inches. Beaufort at dawn is pure magic.

Sheepshead were stacked on the bridge pilings
Dropped fiddler crabs against the bridge pilings along the Beaufort waterfront and the sheepshead were biting on every drop. Landed 14 beautiful sheepies between 3 and 6 pounds. This is some of the best winter fishing in the lowcountry and the fish are absolutely delicious.

Cobia stacked up in the river
Spotted cobia cruising the Beaufort River near the bridge and pitched live eels ahead of them. Connected with four cobia on sight-casts and landed three fish between 35 and 48 pounds. The spring cobia run through Beaufort is predictable and always delivers big fish.

Tarpon and sharks in the tidal creeks
Fished the deeper holes in the tidal creeks near the Sea Islands and found tarpon rolling in the current. Hooked two tarpon on live mullet and also tangled with a big bull shark that gave us an incredible fight. Beaufort's backcountry holds surprises around every bend.
