Speckled Trout Were Absolutely Stacked
Fished the grass beds on the north side of Dauphin Island and the speckled trout were schooled up and feeding aggressively on shrimp. We caught over 30 specks, keeping our limit of fat ones. This island produces world-class trout fishing every fall.

Redfish Tailing on the Flats
Poled the shallow flats along the west end of Dauphin Island at sunrise. Found a massive school of redfish tailing in the turtle grass and sight-cast to them with gold spoons. Landed eight beautiful reds before the tide turned. This is some of the best sight-fishing on the Gulf Coast.

Sheepshead Stacked on Every Piling
The sheepshead bite around the Dauphin Island bridge pilings was unbelievable. Using fiddler crabs, we caught them one after another. They were all thick, healthy fish in the 3 to 5 pound range. The jetties on the east end produced just as well.

Flounder Run Was Absolutely Incredible
Hit the Katrina Cut on a falling tide and the flounder were migrating out in big numbers. We boxed our limit in under two hours fishing live shrimp on the bottom. Dauphin Island in November is the place to be for flatfish.

Trout and Reds All Morning Long
Worked the oyster reefs off the north shore of Dauphin Island and crushed the speckled trout on popping corks. Moved to a nearby flat and picked up several slot redfish. The combination of barrier island access and protected bay water makes this place special.

Bridge Fishing Produced All Day
Anchored up near the Dauphin Island bridge and fished live shrimp on the bottom. Caught a mess of sheepshead and speckled trout throughout the day. Even hooked into a surprise bull redfish that peeled off 50 yards of line before we got it to the boat.
