Fall Chinook Charging the Bay
The fall Chinook were pouring through the Coos Bay bar and we intercepted them trolling herring spinners in the lower bay. Twelve fish for six anglers — all bright chrome kings between 15 and 30 pounds. The Coos Bay fall run is the real deal and this was the peak of it.

Lingcod and Rockfish Offshore Slam
Ran out past the bar to the rocky reef complex and absolutely loaded up on lingcod and rockfish. Six keeper lings to 22 pounds on swimbaits plus full rockfish limits of coppers and blacks on shrimp flies. Coos Bay's offshore grounds rival anywhere on the Oregon coast for bottom fishing.

Halibut Biting on the Bank
Drifted herring on spreader bars over the halibut grounds in 200 feet and connected with quality Pacific halibut all morning. Four keepers to 35 pounds came up from the sandy bottom between the reef patches. Had to work around some aggressive dogfish but the halibut made it worthwhile.
