Yellowfin Tuna Were Absolutely Crushing

Ran out to the rigs about 60 miles south of Venice and the yellowfin tuna were boiling on the surface. We caught six yellowfin up to 80 pounds chunking and live baiting. Venice truly deserves its title as the Fishing Capital of the World.

Marsh Redfish Were on Another Level

Fished the labyrinth of canals and bayous in the Venice marsh and the redfish were stacked up at every drain. We threw gold spoons and caught over 40 reds, releasing all but a few for dinner. The sheer quantity of fish here is mind-blowing.

Blue Marlin on the Canyon Edge

Hit the Mississippi Canyon and raised three blue marlin before noon. Fought one for over an hour that we estimated at 500 pounds. Also picked up a couple mahi mahi and a big wahoo. Venice offshore fishing is a bucket list experience for any angler.

Speckled Trout Slam in the Delta

Fished the passes and bays right around the Mississippi River Delta and the speckled trout were on fire. Caught them on soft plastics under rattling corks and boxed our limit before lunch. Mixed in some beautiful redfish along the shorelines too.

Mahi Mahi Were Stacked Under the Weedlines

Found a massive sargassum line about 40 miles out of Venice and the mahi mahi were everywhere. We caught over 20 dolphinfish, most in the 15 to 30 pound range. The color on those fish against the blue water was something you never forget.

Nonstop Redfish Action at the Passes

Fished South Pass and the jetties at the mouth of the Mississippi River. The redfish were stacked up feeding on the current and we could not keep them off the line. Lost count after 50 fish. Venice is without question the greatest redfish destination on Earth.
