Seven Mile Bridge tarpon were unreal

Fished the Seven Mile Bridge at night with live pinfish and the tarpon were stacked in every current break. Jumped six tarpon and landed three, including a gorgeous 100-pounder. Marathon bridge fishing during tarpon season is a must-do for any serious angler.

Permit schooled up on the wrecks

Found schools of permit over the wrecks and artificial reefs off Marathon and pitched live crabs to them. Hooked five and landed three beautiful permit on spinning tackle. Marathon has some of the best wreck permit fishing in the entire Keys.

Incredible offshore day for dolphin and wahoo

Ran south into deep water out of Marathon and found epic weed lines loaded with mahi. Caught over 15 dolphin on light tackle and a beautiful wahoo that hit a high-speed lure. The offshore waters off Marathon are incredibly productive.

Bonefish on the flats near Boot Key

Poled the flats near Boot Key Harbor at first light and found bonefish tailing in the turtle grass. Made careful casts with shrimp flies and hooked six bones. Marathon flats fishing gets overlooked in favor of Islamorada but it is every bit as good.

Lobster mini-season and yellowtail combo

Hit the patch reefs off Marathon during lobster mini-season and while free-diving for lobsters we also set up rods for yellowtail snapper. Caught a beautiful limit of yellowtails while filling the lobster bag. Marathon summers are the best.

Backcountry action in the Content Keys

Fished the backcountry flats and mangrove channels in the Content Keys behind Marathon and the fishing was outstanding. Caught a beautiful backcountry slam with redfish, trout, and a small tarpon. The Marathon backcountry is pristine and uncrowded.
