Grand Case's crescent-shaped bay and the rocky coastline to the north provide peaceful shore fishing away from the crowds. The village still has a working fishing culture, and you'll often see local anglers pulling in their catch from the beach in the early morning.
Where to Fish
- Grand Case Beach (North End): The rocky point at the northern end of the bay produces jacks, snapper, and barracuda. Cast lures along the rock edge during incoming tide.
- Petites Cayes: The shallow reef area just south of Grand Case is wadeable at low tide. Light tackle with small jigs targets reef fish and the occasional bonefish.
- Anse Marcel Access Road: The coastline between Grand Case and Anse Marcel has several rocky pull-offs where you can cast into deeper water for jacks and mackerel.
Gear Tips
Keep it simple — a light to medium spinning rod with 10-15 lb braid, a handful of small jigs and soft plastics, and some cut bait. The reef is close to shore in many spots, so shorter casts are often more productive than long bombs. Avoid fishing the beach area directly in front of the restaurants during busy dining hours — stick to the outer points and quieter stretches.
Grand Case rewards the angler who arrives early, before the restaurants open and the beach fills up. A few hours of shore fishing followed by a fresh seafood breakfast is a perfect Grand Case morning.
