Jacksonville Fishing
Jacksonville is the gateway to Florida's First Coast fishing scene, where the St. Johns River, one of the few northward-flowing rivers in the country, meets the Atlantic Ocean. Redfish were loaded in the St. Johns River
Fished the oyster bars and marsh edges along the lower St. Johns River and the redfish were crushing topwater plugs at dawn. Landed 13 beautiful reds, mostly slot-sized fish. Jacksonville's St. Johns River redfish fishing is some of the best on the East Coast.

Kingfish stacked up on the offshore ledges
Slow-trolled live menhaden along the offshore ledges about 15 miles out of the St. Johns River Inlet and the kingfish were thick. Boated eight kings with the biggest going over 40 pounds. Jacksonville offshore king mackerel fishing is world-class.

Flounder at the jetties were stacked
Fished the rocks and sandy bottom near the St. Johns River Inlet jetties and the flounder were everywhere. Drifted live finger mullet along the bottom and caught a dozen beautiful flatfish. Jacksonville flounder fishing in the fall is phenomenal.

Sheepshead bonanza at the bridges
Fished the bridge pilings along the Intracoastal in Jacksonville with fiddler crabs and the sheepshead were biting on every drop. Kept a beautiful limit of thick sheepshead. Also caught some nice black drum hanging around the same structure.

Tarpon in the river were a surprise bonus
While targeting redfish in the lower St. Johns we stumbled upon a school of tarpon rolling in the deep channel. Quickly switched to live mullet and jumped three tarpon over 80 pounds. Jacksonville tarpon fishing is one of the best-kept secrets in Northeast Florida.

Bull redfish on the beach were monsters
Found schools of bull redfish in the surf zone along Jacksonville Beach during the fall mullet run. Cast cut mullet into the school and hooked into bruisers over 35 inches on every cast. The fall bull red run on Jax Beach is one of the best fisheries in the state.
