Halibut Smashing in Prince William Sound
Prince William Sound's halibut were lit up today in 280 feet on a mud-and-gravel bottom. Every drift produced bites and we had limits of halibut from 20 to 75 pounds. The glacial scenery of the Sound makes Whittier halibut fishing a truly otherworldly experience — fishing surrounded by tidewater glaciers.

Silver Salmon at the Hatchery Return
The Whittier hatchery silver salmon run was peaking and the fish were everywhere in Passage Canal. Trolled hoochies at 30 feet and had nonstop hookups with acrobatic coho from 8 to 15 pounds. These hatchery silvers fight like fish twice their size and they're delicious on the grill.

Rockfish Stacking Up at the Glaciers
Fished the rocky walls near Blackstone Glacier and the rockfish were insatiable in 150 feet. Black, copper, and yelloweye rockfish hit every bait we dropped — full limits before the glacier calved a house-sized chunk of ice. Fishing at a tidewater glacier is something you have to experience to believe.
