Halibut Giants Off Kodiak Island
Fished the famous Kodiak halibut grounds in 350 feet and the fish finder looked like a Christmas tree. First drop was a 125-pound barn door that took the whole boat to wrestle over the rail. Three more halibut from 40 to 90 pounds followed — Kodiak Island is Alaska halibut fishing at its absolute peak.

King Salmon Running in Chiniak Bay
Trolled Chiniak Bay for king salmon and found them schooled up in 60 feet along the kelp edges. Four beautiful kings from 25 to 48 pounds hit whole herring trolled behind dodgers. Kodiak's king salmon get overshadowed by the halibut but make no mistake — the kings here are trophy caliber.

Rockfish and Lingcod Deep Drop Bonanza
Targeted the deep rocky structure in 280 feet on Kodiak's east side for rockfish and lingcod. Yelloweye rockfish to 15 pounds and lingcod to 28 pounds came up on heavy jigs. The isolation of Kodiak's outer reefs means less fishing pressure and bigger fish — well worth the adventure to get here.
